Jimuel Pacquiao Scheduled For May Fight In California
Many neutrals are putting high expectations on 21-year-old Emmanuel “Jimuel” Pacquaio Jr for his future battles.
The second amateur fight of Pacquiao’s career will take place on May 12 at the Montebello Country Club in California. Even though the opponent is yet to be determined, the boy from the Philippines is labeled as the “special attraction.”
The son of Manny Pacquiao won his first amateur match in March this year when he beat Mexican-American Andres Rosales in San Diego, California. The 21-year-old has tremendous support from the likes of Freddie Roach and Filipino Marvin Somodio.
Jimuel has won four of the five amateur fights in his boxing career so far.
His mentor, Roach, has previously worked with the elder Pacquiao. Many believe that his input was one of the reasons behind Manny’s all-time great career.
The elder Pacquiao is also the only fighter to win world titles across eight divisions.
He retired from professional fighting last year as he seeks to revolutionize his political career and become the Philippines’ president in next month’s elections.
Jimuel is looking to repeating his father’s heroics as he got his boxing license in December last year.
