Jiří Procházka Gives His Take On Alex Pereira’s Heavyweight Move

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiří Procházka predicted that Alex Pereira (13-3) will make history at UFC Freedom 250 by defeating Ciryl Gane (13-2) to become the promotion’s first-ever three-division champion.

Pereira officially vacated his light heavyweight to facilitate a permanent move to the heavyweight division. He is now set to face the former interim champion Ciryl Gane on the South Lawn of the White House on June 14, 2026, for the interim heavyweight title while undisputed champion Tom Aspinall ‘remains sidelined with a long-term eye injury.’

Procházka, who successfully competed as a heavyweight during his tenure in RIZIN, noted that Pereira’s frame is perfectly suited for the jump. While acknowledging Gane’s elite movement, Procházka believes Pereira’s specialized kickboxing pedigree gives him the edge.

“I believe Alex can do that. Especially when I saw him, how his weight is going up. He’s strong enough, too, and in the stand-up, I believe he will be better. But Gane is a lot of movement for that,” Procházka said
