Joaquin Buckley Vs. Abdul Razak Alhassan Reportedly Set For UFC Fight Night On January 15
The UFC has already started to shape its first event of the coming new year with a middleweight clash between Joaquin Buckley and Abdul Razak Alhassan added to its January event.
Buckley will lock horns against the Ghanian Abdul Razak Alhassan in the octagon on January 15 at a UFC Fight Night event. The venue and location are yet to be announced.
The news was first reported by MMA Ideas, but the UFC hasn’t made any official statement regarding the bout.
Buckley, who recorded one of the greatest knockouts in UFC history against Impa Kasanganay, is back to winning ways after finishing Antonio Arroyo in a third-round at UFC Vegas 37 in September.
Buckley went into this fight after suffering a rather unpredictable knockout loss to Alessio Di Chirico. The Italian delivered a thumping head kick early in the first round, which led to his demise.
Buckley needed to prove a point against Arroyo that the outrageous knockout against Kasanganay wasn’t just a fluke. So, he came up with another highlight-reel finish of his own at UFC Vegas 37.
On the other hand, Alhassan has finally managed to break his losing streak in the octagon with a knockout victory over Alessio Di Chirico.
This was Alhassan’s first victory in almost two and half years. All of Alhassan’s wins in the UFC have come by first-round stoppage.
The updated lineup for the January 15 event includes:
- Giga Chikadze vs. Calvin Kattar
- Bill Algeo vs. Joanderson Brito
- Saidyokub Kakhramonov vs. Brian Kelleher
- Zarrukh Adashev vs. Kleydson Rodrigues
- Rogerio Bontorin vs. Brandon Royval
- Kay Hansen vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius
- Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Court McGee
- Katlyn Chookagian vs. Jennifer Maia
- Abdul Razak Alhassan vs. Joaquin Buckley
