Joe Joyce Confirms Joseph Parker Bout For The Summer In London

Joe Joyce is reportedly set to fight Joseph Parker on July 2 at the Wembley Arena in London.

Reports have said that Joyce and Parker are close to finalizing the fight, but Joyce confirmed last week that the date has already been set.

“I’m ranked #1 with the WBO and he’s ranked #2, so there’s no better fight out there for the both of us,” Joyce told Behind The Gloves.

Joyce (13-0, 12 KOs) has yet to be defeated and touts a 92% knockout percentage. His latest wins come over Daniel Dubois in November 2020 by knockout and Carlos Takam in July 2021 by TKO.

Joyce added that Parker looked good in his last fight against Derek Chisora. He commended his future opponent for having skills and defense that could be pose a problem for him.

Parker (30-2, 21 KOs) is coming off back-to-back wins against Chisora by split decision and unanimous decision.

If Joyce can overcome Parker, he’s hopeful to have a shot at WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

“I have to deal with Parker, but let’s hope that Fury is going to get back in the ring and face me,” Joyce added.
