Joe Joyce Planned for Wilder Undercard

After dominating and finishing former WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne last week, Joe Joyce is planned to return to the ring on May 18, according to Richard Schaefer of Ringside Sports.

Joyce would be competing on the undercard of Deontay Wilder’s next WBC title defense. Should he come out victorious in May, the plan is for Joyce to challenge the winner of the upcoming Manuel Charr vs. Trevor Bryan bout for the WBA (Regular) heavyweight championship.

The 33-year-old, who won a silver medal in the super heavyweight division at the 2016 Olympics, is 8-0 as a pro. It would be the second time he competes on an undercard for a Wilder fight, with the first time coming back on Dec. 1, when Joyce scored a first-round knockout of Joe Hanks.
