Joe Rogan Admits Some MMA Judges ‘Are Terrible’

Poor judging has affected the careers of not only boxers, but MMA fighters too.

Joe Rogan is one of the open critics of MMA judging. He recognized that not all judges are bad, but there are those who are. Rogan, a seasoned UFC commentator, said there’s many judges who don’t know much, or anything, about martial arts.

“But they’re still judges in Vegas because they were judges under the boxing commission,” Rogan said.

“They don’t all do a bad job, even the ones who don’t know shit about martial arts, they don’t all do a bad job, but some of them are terrible.”

While Rogan was never an MMA fighter, he’s been working for the UFC since 1997. His first gig was as a backstage and post-fight interviewer.

Today, many MMA fans hold him as an essential part of the UFC commentary team, especially at big events.
