“Many thanks to Sports Illustrated for this framed photo of the iconic “Kid Dynamite” cover of their magazine from 1986. Mike Tyson was and is a huge inspiration for me, and back when he was 19 on the cover of Sports Illustrated it signified a new era in boxing and a complete rebirth of the heavyweight division. We talked about this cover on the podcast, and Sports Illustrated was kind enough to send this to me.
I can remember clearly buying this issue and becoming a massive Mike Tyson fan. He changed boxing for a lot of people and reignited public interest in heavyweights. I’m pretty damn pumped to watch him vs the great Roy Jones Jr. on November 28th, but regardless of the outcome, this framed photo will be a prized possession on my wall.”
Rogan has expressed his excitement for Tyson vs. Jones. Despite the fact that it’ll be an exhibition match, Rogan believes that both Tyson and Jones will be going for the finish throughout the night.
The Tyson vs. Jones card will also feature a celebrity grudge match. YouTube personality Jake Paul will meet former NBA star Nate Robinson in a pro bout. Also, former WBA and WBC champion Badou Jack will share the ring with Blake McKernan. The card will open up with Viddal Riley vs. Rashad Coulter.
