Joe Rogan was left perplexed by Tyson Fury’s split-decision win over Francis Ngannou as he hit out at Juan Carlos Pelayo’s 96-93 scorecard for the Gypsy King.
Ngannou was on the cusp of pulling off one of the biggest upsets of all time by getting close to defeating the WBC heavyweight champion on his boxing debut. Despite putting in a commendable performance, which included flooring Fury in the third round, the judges did not see it that way. In the aftermath of the fight, the boxing community was divided over the result, with Carl Froch branding the decision as the ‘highest level’ of corruption. With that being said, Rogan was equally displeased by what he had seen from the judges.

“Francis Ngannou had never had a boxing match ever in his life, had zero boxing matches, but he was the UFC heavyweight champion, knocked down Tyson Fury in the third round, beat him up in the eighth round. Most people, including me, thought he should’ve won the decision – including most boxers, most boxing pundits. He lost by one point on one judge’s scorecard. He won on one judge’s scorecard, and another judge, who should go to jail, had it 96-93 for Tyson Fury, which is f***ing outrageous,” Rogan
Despite not getting the victory, the former UFC heavyweight champion’s credibility as a boxer has grown exponentially. Fights with Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua are being seriously discussed. Meanwhile, a top-ten ranking in the WBC is also expected to follow. So, moving forward, Ngannou has plenty of options.

I trust Joe's judgment on the scoring. But I watched it and it didn't seem like a robbery.
And I also think Fury probably didn't take Francis seriously. Hopefully Francis sticks with it. Mike Tyson training him is very cool.
