The highly anticipated UFC White House event is set to go down on June 14th from the South Lawn in Washington D.C., and it has been revealed that Joe Rogan will be present in his commentating position alongside Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik.
In the main event at the White House, Ilia Topuria is set to defend his title against Justin Gaethje, who secured interim championship status with his unanimous decision victory over Paddy Pimblett earlier this year. In the co-feature, Alex Pereira will make his heavyweight debut as he seeks to capture gold in a third division when he meets Ciryl Gane for the interim belt.
Despite accepting the commentary role for the monumental event, Joe Rogan took some issue with the plan for the event given the outdoor conditions potentially affecting title fights with serious implications.
“I don’t like the idea of fighting outside at all,” he said. “June, and it’s D.C., and we looked it up last year: The same day was 100 degrees. Hot as ****. How about dehydration? The bugs are a big one. How the **** are they going to do anything about the bugs?”
