On September 26th, 2023, Ngannou had been working the pads under the guidance of Mike Tyson as he prepares to face Tyson Fury on October 28th, 2023. Ngannou will be making his boxing debut in a fight where he is the massive underdog. And by the looks of it, his training has not been admired. In the following video, Ngannou’s jab, which was being used to set up a right hand to the body, became a topic of discussion. The former IBF super middleweight champion, Caleb Plant, was very critical of Ngannou’s jab.

“That’s as awful as a jab can be,” Plant
And now John Fury has had his say on the matter.
‼️ John Fury reacts to Francis Ngannou on the pads at his media workout ahead of the Tyson Fury fight: "I hope that's a joke… If that's what he's got, God help him, he'll get smashed to bits. That's embarrassing. It's a disgrace."

“Just seen Francis Ngannou and Mike Tyson and that so-called trainer what’s got the pads on, seen the open workout. I hope he’s kidding along and he’s playing possum here. I hope that’s a joke and intended to be a laugh. Because if it’s not, he ain’t got a prayer. He ain’t got a cat in hell’s chance. He won’t get out of the first round. It’s probably going to be Tyson’s quickest knockout.
“But you know what? It’s got to be kidology, that. It’s got to be full-on games. Because if that’s what he’s got — well, God help him, he’ll get smashed to bits. That’s all I’m saying, mate. That’s embarrassing. If that’s what he can do on a public workout, don’t bother doing a public workout. It’s a disgrace,” Fury
Those comments demonstrate the reason why the boxing fanbase was not keen on seeing Fury face Ngannou and were hoping for an undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk instead. And for all of the promotion in trying to hype up the fight, the majority of boxing fans have taken the view that Fury’s motives are for the money. After all, he is expected to get a reported $50 million. And there is no getting away from that.
Social Media Reaction
That’s because he isn’t a boxer. They know this. It’s all about getting the bag, absolutely zero sporting accolades can come from a heavyweight champion boxer beating an athlete of another discipline.
