Johnny Walker Vs. Paul Craig Targeted For UFC 283

Johnny Walker vs. Paul Craig has reportedly been added to the UFC 283 lineup.

According to Ag Fight, Walker vs. Craig will occur inside Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s Jeunesse Arena on January 21.

Walker defeated Ion Cuțelaba by first-round submission last month.

Craig’s four-fight winning streak was recently broken by Volkan Oezdemir, who triumphed over him by a unanimous decision. In his scheduled match with Craig, Walker hopes to avoid getting barred from the arena this time, win or lose.

After his UFC 279 bout, Walker claimed the UFC wouldn’t even permit him to have a post-fight shower and recorded himself going around the Las Vegas Strip in nothing but his combat kit. He explained everything to Helen Yee.

“After the fight it’s the usual thing, you go off to medical and then you go off to various media groups to do your interviews,” he said. “And usually you get to go back to your locker room, quick shower, get changed, and then back to the hotel. Or if you’re lucky you might even get tickets to go back outside.”

“It was a little bit odd how it all went down,” Kavanagh continued. “So the last media interview, it’s in a tent outside the T-Mobile. And we come out of the tent, and go back into the building, grab our gear, and get changed. The blue shirt UFC staff – who were incredibly professional and polite, nothing against them – they had to stop us at the door and tell us ‘You’re not allowed back in.’”

Here’s the projected lineup:

  • Champ Deiveson Figueiredo vs. interim champ Brandon Moreno – to unify flyweight title
  • Gregory Rodrigues vs. Brad Tavares
  • Ihor Potieria vs. Mauricio Rua
  • Gabriel Bonfim vs. Mounir Lazzez
  • Zarah Fairn vs. Josiane Nunes
  • Paul Craig vs. Johnny Walker
