Jon Jones Accuses Stipe Miocic Of Ducking Him
Jon Jones has accused Stipe Miocic of ducking a fight by publicly calling him out on it.
According to a source who is a close associate of Miocic, the former has confirmed his participation in a fight with Jones on July 8th, 2023.
Miocic has consistently mentioned that he prefers to fight the new champion in the summer, who won the title by submitting Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 after being away from the sport for three years.
Despite this being the case, Jones has suggested that Stipe is ducking him. He took a jab at the former titleholder by suggesting that he take a break from his firefighting profession to train for their upcoming fight.
Yo @stipemiocic only you the UFC and I know the truth, you dodged me all of 2022 – July, September & December.
Now I’m hearing rumors that we may not be fighting this July.— BONY (@JonnyBones) March 16, 2023
Bro it’s simple, either you believe in yourself or you don’t. Either you want this challenge or you don’t. Stop wasting everyone’s time.

Since his defeat to former champion Francis Ngannou in March 2021, Miocic has not been actively participating in the sport.
Miocic has a record of three consecutive title defenses in the heavyweight division, though, making the fight even more enticing. That is why he has Jones in his sights.

With that being said, UFC’s Dana White remained optimistic that it would happen: “Here’s the thing that makes this so awesome, you have the greatest mixed martial artist of all time facing the greatest heavyweight of all time.
“It literally doesn’t get any better than that. These are the kinds of fights you dream about making.”
