Jon Jones’ Court Date Pushed To January For Domestic Violence Case
Jon Jones will return to court in January.
Jones, a former UFC champion, had his court date reset to January where he will learn if he’ll face criminal charges following his September arrest. The 34-year-old was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and felony damaging a vehicle.
This incident stemmed from allegedly grabbing his fiancée by her hair — his daughter asked the security of the palace to call the police — and leaving a dent on the hood of a police patrol vehicle after smashing it with his head during the arrest.
It happened after he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame for his iconic fight against Alexander Gustafsson.
Jones remains free on $8,000 bail.
Jones is regarded as one of the best mixed martial artists in the world. He is the youngest champion in the history of the UFC and has lots of title defenses.
He was never defeated because his only loss was via an illegal strike.
After vacating the light heavyweight title, he announced his debut in the heavyweight division but never did it. He was in the process of bulking up.
It is unknown if or when he’ll return to the octagon.
