Jon Jones & Dana White Fool Fans Over Francis Ngannou ‘Deal’

Jon Jones and UFC President Dana White had some fun at the expense of those who thought they were out of the woods on April Fools Day.

Jones and the UFC have found themselves at odds over pay once again. Jones vacated the UFC Light-Heavyweight Championship in an effort to move up in weight. He’s had his sights set on the winner of Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou 2. Ngannou knocked out Miocic to capture the UFC Heavyweight Title.

After the fight, “Bones” called for more money in order to fight “The Predator.” White responded by taking it as a sign that Jones truly doesn’t want the fight.

Taking to his Twitter account, Jones claimed that he sat down with White and the two came to an agreement to make the Ngannou fight happen.

I just had a great dinner and the best conversation I’ve had with Dana and a very long time, we got the deal done. Date to be announced soon.”

The UFC boss decided to play along.

Incredible night brother.”

Of course, it was all a ruse and Jones reminded fight fans that it was still April Fools Day.

It’s about 11:42 here in Albuquerque.”

Hope you guys had a good April fools.”

While Jones and White had fun this time, there are still some issues when it comes to the negotiation process. “Bones” expressed his belief that making anywhere between $8 million and $10 million would be far too low for a fight with Ngannou.
