Jon Jones ‘On The Lookout’ For A New Team, Won’t Be Going Back To Jackson Wink

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been training out of his garage with coaches Greg Jackson and Brandon Gibson, and it looks like the fighter won’t be returning to his previous gym.

Jones is looking out for a new team after he was banned from Jackson Wink by longtime coach Mike Winkeljohn.

Lately, Jones hasn’t got things going in the right direction for himself as he has been prohibited from Jackson Wink following a misdemeanor arrest for alleged battery involving his fiancée, Jessie Moses.

After the proceedings, Jones had expressed his sadness following the ban from the Albuquerque gym, labeling it as a ‘heartbreaking’ event.

But despite his bodily disunion from the gym, Jones said that he will still root for fellow fighters training there, but will not go back.

“Definitely won’t be going back but I will continue to root for all the fighters that are training there,” Jones tweeted. “I do believe my training methods and sessions have improved significantly since changing environments. Grateful for all the time I got to spend there, everything has its time”

In reply to a fan tweet, where Jones was applauded for carrying the Jackson Wink for almost a decade, the former UFC champ remained humble.

“I don’t feel like I carried the team, we have lots of guys doing amazing things out of that gym. I will admit the program isn’t at the level it used to be, and hasn’t been for a while now”

Jones, 34, last fought in the octagon in February 2020 where he defended the light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

After unifying the division, Jones vacated his title and decided to take a new challenge with a move to the heavyweight division.
