Jon Jones Says He Will Return In November

Jon Jones has revealed that he will fight on November 9.

Bones is expected to fight Stipe Miocic after initially withdrawing from their UFC 295 title defense. Jones suffered a pectoral muscle injury as he underwent surgery. Dana White dismissed Tom Aspinall’s wish to strip Jones, leaving fans waiting for his return.

Jones only came back last year after three years out of the sport to beat Ciryl Gane at UFC 285. The win gave him the vacant title, as all eyes turned towards his next step. Should he get past Miocic, there will be an incrasing pressure on Jones to face Aspinall. However, Alex Pereira has also emerged as an alternative, as the Brazilian could move up to heavyweight. Miocic defended criticism of the fight.

“I get it. I’d feel the same way but I’m not taking anything away from him. The UFC can do what they want. It is what it is. There’s only one guy I want to fight, it’s Jon Jones. But at the same time, the UFC can pick who they want. People don’t know this, but there were a couple of other times where I was ready to fight him and they gave him another guy. What am I supposed to do? I’m not holding up any division like everyone says. I don’t care. Do what you want and stop crying,” Miocic said

Either way, fans can expect Jones back soon.
