Jon Jones Sends A Warning To Israel Adesanya Following UFC 253
Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya still aren’t done beefing.
Adesanya stepped inside the Octagon this past Saturday, September 26. He put his UFC Middleweight Championship on the line against Paulo Costa. “The Last Stylebender” turned in a stellar performance, stopping “Borrachinha” via second-round TKO.
During the UFC 253 post-fight press conference, Adesanya said he still has a plan to “f*ck Jon Jones up.” Jones took to social media to fire back at Adesanya.
“But what? You’ve stepped into the ring over 100 times now and you’re still not ready!? You have a youth advantage and like four times the fighting experience. The truth is you’re already my p*ssy, you love being undefeated and you’ve seen what’s happened to everyone else. It raises your stock to mention my name, you’re aware of this. You don’t want real confrontation with me, I’m not gonna just stand there and kickbox with you. I’ve been preparing for heavyweights, right around now I would literally tear one of your arms off.”
Jones vacated the UFC Light-Heavyweight Championship in favor of the heavyweight division. That title now belongs to Jan Blachowicz, who scored a second-round TKO victory over Dominick Reyes to capture the gold.
As for Adesanya, he’s said he wants to leave behind a legacy at middleweight much like Anderson Silva did. With that said, Adesanya’s performance at UFC 253 was so impressive that some have been calling for him to move up to 205 pounds. UFC President Dana White has said that if Jared Cannonier defeats Robert Whittaker, then he’ll likely challenge for Adesanya’s gold.
