Jon Jones Under Investigation For Threatening To Kill A Drug Testing Officer

UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones is reportedly under investigation for threatening to kill a drug testing officer in March.

The tester was part of the UFC’s Anti-Doping Program. Following USADA’s departure at the end of 2023, Drug Free Sport International was tasked with taking drug samples from athletes. According to the outlet ABQ RAW, the authorities received a complaint from a drug tester who had gone out to test Jones at his house. During their interaction, the drug testing officer claimed Jones threatened to kill her as the UFC fighter was intoxicated. The testing officer also alleges Jones grabbed her phone so she could not call the authorities.

This is not the first time Jones has had issues with alcohol. He was arrested in 2021 over a misdemeanor domestic violence charge and vowed to stop drinking. He has now reacted to the latest incident, sharing security footage of what appears to be two sample collectors leaving his house on good terms. Jones also dismissed reports which stated he had been arrested.

Jones is currently recovering from an injury, which prevented his title defense against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295. The heavyweight injured his pectoral muscle in sparring as he underwent surgery. Further surgery on his elbow followed, delaying his return even further. The latest incident is another obstacle Jones will have to overcome.
