Jon Jones Vs. Stipe Miocic Pushed Back Until Autumn

A UFC 290 showdown between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic is likely to occur at a later date, pushing back the initial plans.

ESPN’s Marc Raimondi disclosed that the revised schedule involves the two facing off inside the Octagon in the autumn. Undoubtedly, this is a familiar experience for Jones which he experienced last year.

At that time, it was reported that Miocic would not be prepared to face Jones until September, but that never materialized.

And that is something that had gotten on Jones’ nerves, with suggestions that Miocic was ducking.

After all, following a hiatus lasting more than three years, Jones secured the heavyweight title through a commanding performance against Ciryl Gane.

And as there were hopes that he could face Miocic in the summer, the same could not be said now.

“I’ve seen several tweets talking about Jones vs. Miocic at UFC 290 in July. That’s still the fight all parties want next, but it won’t happen in July and hasn’t really been discussed for July in a while. Much more likely now for the fall,”  Raimondi

Those comments did not resonate well with the UFC fans on social media.
