Jon Jones Wins Via Unanimous Decision In UFC Debut Against Andre Gusmão – August 9. 2008 (This Day In MMA History)

Thirteen years ago today, Jon Jones was 21 years old and made his UFC debut at UFC 87.

He defeated André Gusmão via unanimous decision – a victory that came just nine months after beginning MMA training and four months after his pro debut.

Just three years later, Jones went on to defeat Mauricio Rua and claimed the UFC light heavyweight title.

Despite having recent complications with the UFC and organization president Dana White confirming the fighter won’t return until 2022, his record sits at 26 wins and just one loss.
