Jonathan Haggerty’s Meteoric Rise In ONE Championship

Coming off two wins last year, and riding a five fight winning streak with ONE Championship, Jonathan Haggerty is poised to make a statement in 2024.

Current holder of ONE’s 145-pound Muay Thai and Kickboxing world titles, “The General” has squared off with some of the best strikers in the game, and in many cases has emerged victorious.

Haggerty’s next challenge will come in the form of Felipe “Demolition Man” Lobo of Revolution Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand. Last April, Lobo knocked out Saemapetch Fairtex in what is being looked at as the biggest win of his career. Similarly, Haggerty is also coming off a knockout victory in November of last year versus Fabricio Andrade at ONE Fight Night 16 to capture his 145-pound kickboxing title, and become a two-sport world champion.

Haggerty began his time with ONE Championship in 2019, with a pair of bouts in Indonesia in which he made his arrival known, with victories over Joseph Lasiri and high level Thai boxer Sam-A Gaiyanghadao. Prior to signing the dotted line with the organization, the English Muay Thai standout competed in high level promotions such as YOKKAO and MTGP.

To add to his resume even further, he managed to capture the WBC Muay Thai super-featherweight International title following his 2018 head kick knockout over Keith McLachlan.

Despite his recent crossover to kickboxing to add another belt to his collection, Haggerty seems to plan to uphold his commitment to his craft, as he looks forward to defending his Muay Thai title versus Lobo on February 16th at ONE Fight Night 19.
