Jones + Cormier + Cyborg = 850,00 Buys for UFC 214

ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported on Monday that the July 29th event, which was headlined by a rematch between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier, drew in roughly 850,000 buys.

That number beats the first time Jones and Cormier faced off  at UFC 182, in 2015 by 50,000 buys. and with UFC 214 doing 700,000 more than the previous Pay-per-view effort from the combat sports giant, it is safe to assume that Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier, and Cris Cyborg will be mainstay main eventers for UFC in the future, especially the returning Jones who may be considered the number two draw after Conor McGregor. That can be attributed to the potential retirement of Ronda Rousey, and the name recognition Jones has in the mainstream sports culture, but a big boost for UFC heading into the rest of 2017.
