Jones-Cormier Engage In Social Media War

One of the biggest rivalries in the UFC continued this weekend as Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones would get deeply personal on social media.

The smack talk started when Jones was found to have an “abnormal” test from USADA that found a small amount of Turinabol in his system. Turinabol was the same performance enhancer found in Jones’ system following his now thrown-out win over Cormier at UFC 214 in 2017.

Cormier would take to Instagram and blast not only Jones, but the UFC, UFC VP Jeff Novitzky, California State Athletic Commission Executive Director Andy Foster, and USADA for allowing the UFC to uproot an entire pay-per-view event less than a week from one state to another.

Jones retaliated with a personal attack towards Cormier and Cormier’s wife.

Cormier would step up the heat on his rival, going after Jones’ wife’s body and calling the former two-time light heavyweight champion a “junkie.”

Jones would then take the beef to Twitter, where he would quote-tweet a gif of Cormier crying following his UFC 214 knockout loss to Jones, with Jones challenging Cormier to a fight, only for Cormier to come out and reply.

While Jones and Cormier may never face off again in the Octagon, their deeply personal issues seem like they will never go away, especially with Jones returning on December 29th to face Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of UFC 232, now taking place at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
