Jorge Masvidal On Why He Never Fought McGregor – “I Think Conor Knows I’m Bad For His Brand”

Jorge Masvidal made claims earlier this week that Conor McGregor refused to fight him due to their difference in size, and the fact that the potential loss was too risky for the Irishman.

Masvidal and McGregor have been taking ongoing shots at one another on social media for quite some time now, but very little has ever been discussed in the way of a fight between the two.

While this is clearly just one side of the story, and only a select few know the other at this time, “Gamebred” pointed to some details in a recent interview with Vlad TV.

“I think Conor [McGregor] knows I’m bad for his brand. I’m bigger than him, I’m gonna stand in front of him and I’m gonna beat the f*** out of him on the feet. I’m not gonna take him down…He’s not ever gonna be the same cause I got a thing of breaking guys where they’re never the same, especially if they choose to go that route.”

With Masvidal’s departure from the UFC over a year ago, and McGregor set to make his return to action this June versus Michael Chandler, the two are on very different trajectories at this point. But, regardless of the fact that this is just a grudge that will likely never go further, these recent remarks will no doubt fire up some additional back and forth.

Despite retiring from the UFC, Masvidal has a 10-round boxing match scheduled for this July in Anaheim versus former UFC BMF title opponent Nate Diaz. The Miami native has also been keeping busy promoting fights under “Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA”, with their most recent event taking place in March.
