Jose Aldo Jumps Rankings, Calls Out TJ Dillashaw After Dominant Victory Over Rob Font
Following his victory against Rob Font on Saturday, MMA superstar Jose Aldo has climbed two positions in the current UFC bantamweight standings.
Also, the former UFC featherweight champion came into the battle on a two-bout winning run, having defeated Pedro Munhoz and Marlon Vera by unanimous decision.
Likewise, Rob Font came into UFC Vegas 44 on a four-fight winning run, with his most recent victory coming over former 135-pound champion Cody Garbrandt.
The main event on Saturday was a spectacular twenty-five-minute battle.
Font maintained a high tempo of punches and kicks throughout the five-round fight, but Jose Aldo’s tremendous kicks and punches proved to be the difference. ‘The King of Rio’ was declared the winner by unanimous decision immediately after the final whistle.
After his decisive victory, Aldo immediately called out former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw.
Since the Brazilian great announced his move to bantamweight in 2019, fans have been clamoring for an ‘Aldo versus Dillashaw’ fight. According to the most recent UFC rankings update, the bout is highly likely to occur.
After his victory against Font, Aldo advanced two positions to No. 3 rankings, placing him just below Dillashaw.
