Jose Benavidez Jr Says He’ll End The ‘Danny Garcia Show’

Danny Garcia and Jose Benavidez Jr went face-to-face on Thursday ahead of their super welterweight clash.

Garcia and Benavidez promised they would put on a show on Saturday at the Barclays Center.

Garcia has been out of action for 19 months. He last fought against welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr in 2020, which he lost by unanimous decision.

Now, Garcia said he has a new goal.

“I want to chase a new dream. I want to be a three-division champion. I have the skill and I have the will and I’m not going to let anyone take it away from me,” he said.

“The ‘Danny Garcia Show’ is back.”

Meanwhile, Benavidez was last in the ring in November 2021. He fought Francisco Emanuel Torres, which ended in a draw.

Before that, he was edged by Terence Crawford via TKO loss.

“They can think what they want to think. I know what I’m capable of and I’m going to prove it on Saturday. I’m only focused on my work ethic and I’ve been training hard for this fight,” Benavidez said.

“… This is going to be the end of the ‘Danny Garcia Show’.”
