Ramirez put his WBC and WBO Light-Welterweight Titles on the line against Postol. The title fight headlined a Top Rank Boxing card. The action was held inside the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fight fans were paying close attention to this bout as it had serious ramifications when it comes to a potential high-profile title unification bout. Many have been clamoring for a matchup between Ramirez and Josh Taylor. That plan would’ve blown up in smoke had Postol scored an upset win.

Ramirez ensured that he did his part in making the title unification fight a reality. While Postol posed a threat throughout the bout, Ramirez was able to have enough success to score the majority decision victory with scores of 114-114, 115-113, 116-112.

Now it’s up to what Taylor does against Apinun Khongsong when it comes to making the big title unification bout a reality. Taylor will defend his WBA and IBF gold on September 26 inside the BT Sport Studio in London, England. If Taylor emerges victorious, then fight fans are likely to see the big showdown with Ramirez as long as negotiations go smoothly.
