Joseph Parker (36-4, 24 KOs) has been cleared to resume his boxing career after his provisional suspension was lifted.
Parker was provisionally suspended after a routine Voluntary Anti-Doping Association test detected traces of cocaine. The sample was collected on the day of his 11th-round stoppage defeat to Fabio Wardley at The O2 last October.
The former WBO heavyweight champion denied knowingly using a banned substance after testing positive amid concerns that he could face a possible two-year ban. However, the British Boxing Board of Control has confirmed that the suspension is no longer in place.
“I’m pleased to confirm my provisional suspension is lifted and I’ll be back in the ring soon. I’ve been advised to say no more for now while details are finalised. Thank you to all my supporters,” Parker said.
Details surrounding the decision have not been released, while Parker has yet to confirm an opponent or date for his return.
