Joseph Parker Trolled Over His Next Fight – ‘Career Coming To An End’

Former heavyweight champion Joseph Parker has taken a massive step down as he will face Faiga Opelu in Melbourne, Australia, on May 24th, 2023, for the Commonwealth title.

Parker’s stock had fallen after having been knocked out by Joe Joyce. While he did bounce back with a victory over Jack Massey, the fact of the matter is that the performance left nothing to be desired.

Massey is known as a cruiserweight, so Parker’s failure to knock him out by going the distance drew a lot of criticism.

So by facing Opelu, the New Zealander has a chance to rebuild himself and gain some much-needed confidence.

And by the looks of it, Parker is ready for the test.

“I’m very excited to be heading to Australia to headline a massive fight.

“I’ve been to Australia numerous times and the amount of support there is amazing and everyone is always so welcoming.

“I look forward to the atmosphere from both the Aussie and Kiwi fight fans and I know everyone will be pumped to see two world class heavyweights go at it.

“The Commonwealth heavyweight title has been held by some of the biggest names in the sport so I’m looking forward to adding my name to that list on May 24 in Melbourne,” Parker

Despite this being the case, the boxing community has been far from impressed.
