Josh Taylor Makes Short Work Of Apinun Khongsong
Josh Taylor remains perfect in his pro boxing career.
Taylor put his WBA (Super) and IBF Light-Welterweight Titles on the line against Apinun Khongsong on Saturday, September 26. The action took place inside York Hall in London, England. Going into the bout, Khongsong was also unbeaten.
Khongsong had no problem throwing leather in the early going. Taylor showcased patience and tied up the challenger. With Khongsong’s back against the ropes, Taylor landed a body shot that ended the challenger’s night. Khongsong couldn’t beat the ten-count and it’s officially scored as a first-round knockout.
With the victory, Taylor improves his record to 17-0 with 13 knockouts. Taylor has been calling for a title unification bout with WBC and WBO champion Jose Ramirez. The potential roadblock there is that Jack Catterall is the mandatory challenger for Ramirez’s WBO gold.
Here is the finish of Taylor’s quick victory over Khongsong.
