Josh Taylor Vs. Josh Catterall Remains In Air After Getting Delayed Again

They were supposed to fight in November.

Josh Taylor versus Jack Catterall’s projected date has been pushed back – again.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum told Boxing Scene that the fight will not happen on February 4 as previously planned; instead, it should happen in either late February or early March.

The reason for the delay is to make more time between two Sky Sports Box Office pay-per-view shows in the United Kingdom and Ireland, according to Boxing Scene.

Chris Eubank Jr will headline against Liam Smith on January 21 at AO Arena in Manchester, England. It’s unclear who the Ireland PPV is supposed to feature.

Their anticipated super lightweight rematch was originally supposed to happen on November 26 at OVO Hydrow in Glasgow, but it was postponed to 2023.

They have not fought since their highly controversial IBF title fight in February of this year. Catterall had knocked Taylor to the canvas, but Taylor still managed to walk away with a split decision win.

Since then, Taylor has relinquished three of his four titles in an attempt to speed up a rematch between the two, but they have yet to be successful.
