Josh Taylor Vs. Teofimo Lopez Set For June 10th
Josh Taylor and ex-unified lightweight title-holder Teofimo Lopez have come to an understanding of having a match on June 10th, 2023.
Mark Kriegel from ESPN has reported that the Taylor-Lopez match will take place either at Madison Square Garden or the Hula Theater.
Josh Taylor and Teofimo Lopez have agreed to a deal for Taylor's WBO junior welterweight title on June 10 in New York, sources told ESPN.
The fight will be broadcasted on ESPN/ESPN+.

The undefeated Taylor (19-0, 13 KOs) has his WBO light welterweight belt at stake, while Lopez (18-1, 13 KOs) seeks to make his mark in the 140 lb division.
This match is of huge significance for Lopez, with serious question marks over his performances of late.
His loss to George Kambosos Jr, coupled with a mixed performance against Sandor Martin, had shown that Lopez was not in top form.
So much so that after the Martin fight, he could be heard saying: ‘Do I still have it, man,’ much to the bemusement of boxing fans. But by fighting in his hometown, Lopez has an opportunity to set things right.
Meanwhile, Taylor is relatively obscure in the United States, especially after his subpar showing against Jack Catterall. Numerous boxing aficionados believed that Taylor was second best.
The two were expecting to fight a rematch, but when a financially attractive match with Teofimo was offered, Taylor decided to go with it, much to Catterall’s dismay.
So with both fighters having something to prove there is plenty at stake.
