Joshua And Ngannou Face Off In Final Presser

Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou held their final presser ahead of their fight on Friday.

The former Unified Heavyweight Champion Joshua is in impressive form, having stopped Otto Wallin in his last fight. That was Joshua’s first fight under his new trainer, Ben Davidson, as he reverted back to a more aggressive style. Joshua knows a victory puts him in line for an undisputed shot against the winner of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk, who fight for all the belts on May 18.

A victory for Ngannou legitimizes his claim as a credible boxer. His boxing debut against Fury was impressive. He dropped the WBC Heavyweight Champion with a left hook in the third round, narrowly losing a split decision. The WBC rewarded Ngannou with a top-ten ranking, but questions remain over whether the Fury performance was a one-off.

In chief support, Zhilei Zhang defends his WBO Interim Heavyweight Title against Joseph Parker. Both men are coming off career-best wins. Zhang stopped Joe Joyce in back-to-back fights to pick up the belt. Parker also secured an impressive win, beating Deontay Wilder in a one-sided unanimous decision. The winner puts themselves in a mandatory position for the winner of Fury-Usyk. Here were the key highlights from the presser.
