Joshua Gets Off The Canvas To Stop Prenga

Anthony Joshua (30-4, 27 KOs) returned to winning ways in Jeddah on Saturday night, stopping Kristian Prenga (20-2, 20 KOs) in the second round to set up a likely showdown with Tyson Fury later this year, but had to get off the canvas.

The fight started disastrously for the 36-year-old. Prenga put him on the canvas with an uppercut inside the first 20 seconds and knocked him down again before the round was out. Joshua regrouped, hurt Prenga with a jab, and finished the round on top.

Joshua did not need long in the second. Joshua closed the show early, with Prenga unable to continue. The win is Joshua’s first since a car accident in Nigeria last December claimed the lives of two close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.
