As Top Rank continues to put on mid-week events, the competition only gets better. Taking place inside the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, five fights were featured on June 16.
The main event: Joshua Greer Jr. v. Mike Plania with the co-feature being Giovani Santillan v. Antonio DeMarco.
Fighting three times in 2019, Greer (22-1-1) was able to capture the WBC Continental Americas Bantamweight Title and the WBC-NABO Bantamweight Title. He is currently the number one-ranked bantamweight for the WBO. Plania (23-1) hasn’t lost a bout since 2018, winning eight in a row. His last fight (5th of 2019) was a unanimous decision win over Giovanni Gutierrez in December.
On a two-fight losing streak, DeMarco (33-8-1) is looking for his first win since 2017. The last time he was knocked out was against Adrien Broner in 2012. Santillan (25-0) fought once in 2019, beating Wilfrido Buelvas via knockout. The 28-year-old has 15 wins via knockout.
