Joshua-Pulev Set for October 28

Coming off his monumental victory over Wladimir Klitschko, IBF and WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is set to make his return next month.

Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) will take on Kubrat Pulev (25-1, 13 KOs) at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The venue has a capacity of 74,000+.

The fight is expected to be officially announced by Matchroom Boxing on Tuesday.

The only man to defeat Pulev as a professional was Klitschko, who knocked the Bulgarian contender out in 2014. Pulev is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Kevin Johnson.

While Joshua awaits one of the other heavyweight champions, namely WBC champion Deontay Wilder, Pulev is a formidable albeit lesser opponent for the British champ to share the ring with. Joshua had anticipated a rematch with Klitschko, but the Ukrainian former champion announced his retirement following their April clash.
