US fight fans can watch Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois for $19.95, which has resulted in a mixed reaction.
The price is part of the Saudis’ plan to make a PPV price of $20 globally, starting with this IBF Heavyweight Title clash. Joshua aims to become a three-time world champion, which would put him in line to face the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk, who rematch on December 21. Dubois became the full champion once Usyk vacated after beating Fury. The winner knows they will have a shot at undisputed.
Recent US PPV fights for Saudi events were priced at $69.99, which was the figure for Fury vs. Usyk. With worries over the rise of illegal streaming, an affordable PPV price will make boxing more accessible. Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga will cost fans $89.99. While Joshua-Dubois may not have the biggest appeal to US fans, it is still a world title fight.
