Joshua vs. Fury Expected Venue and Date

The Anthony Joshua (30-4, 27 KO) vs Tyson Fury (36-2-1, 25 KO) fight is expected to land at Principality Stadium in Cardiff with all signs pointing to a date of December 11.

An official announcement is expected any day now, with the stadium’s 78,000-capacity boxing configuration emerging as the likely venue for the all-British fight. Its retractable roof makes Cardiff a viable option for the event.

Organizers pushed for the fight to instead take place at Madison Square Garden in New York, with revised financial terms discussed to make a move worthwhile for Joshua. He ultimately opted to remain with the original agreement for the bout to take place in Britain.

UFC CEO and Zuffa Boxing head Dana White previously predicted the fight would happen in the UK while negotiations continued. “It’ll happen,” White said recently, when asked whether Joshua-Fury would go ahead.

The fight should have happened a decade ago, when both men were at the peak of their powers as two of Britain’s most prominent heavyweights. A meeting between Joshua, now 36, and Fury, now 38, has been discussed repeatedly during their careers without materializing.
