Joshua vs. Povetkin Live Results

Although Anthony Joshua is not facing Deontay Wilder at Wembley Stadium tonight, he is still facing one of the top heavyweight boxers in the world today in Alexander Povetkin.

The fight marks Joshua’s return to Wembley Stadium after his first time headlining the colossal venue saw him knock out Wladimir Klitschko in 2017. The win gave Joshua the second of his now three major world titles and is looking to become the first man to win all four major heavyweight world titles.

Joshua quickly ascended to the top of the mountain with 20 straight knockout victories with wins over Dillian Whyte, Charles Martin, Joseph Parker and Klitschko. Now Joshua is one WBC title short of becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion. But before getting that superfight against Wilder, Joshua will have to get past Povetkin.

Povetkin’s career has been marred by failed drug tests, but after finishing up a drug suspension last year, Povetkin returned to form, knocking out David Price in his last fight to become the mandatory challenger to Joshua’s title. Povetkin previously fought Klitschko for the unified titles, but was unsuccessful. After that loss, Povetkin won eight straight fights with six of those wins coming by knockout.
