Juan Estrada vs. Chocolatito 2 Live Gate & Ticket Sales Revealed
Juan Estrada vs. “Chocolatito” 2 is in the books and the live gate numbers, along with ticket sales, have been revealed.
The rematch between Estrada and Roman Gonzalez took place on March 13. The WBA (Super), WBC, and The Ring Super-Flyweight Titles were on the line. After 12 rounds of thrilling action, Estrada was awarded the controversial split decision win.
The title fight took place inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Fans were allowed in the building at a reduced capacity. BoxingScene.com reveals that 2,323 tickets were sold for a live gate of $227,765. There were also 136 complimentary tickets issued.
“Chocolatito” told DAZN’s Chris Mannix after the rematch that he believes he should’ve had his hand raised on fight night.
“I won both of them. Whatever [Estrada] wants, we’ll do it. I’m very happy with my performance and the crowd enjoyed the fight.
“It was a better fight than the first one. I felt strong, and I felt I won. In the last round, I gave it all. It was a great round. The result is what God wanted. And I’m happy because I’m going back home to see my family.”
Estrada’s mandatory challenger is Srisaket Sor Rungvisai but he told reporters he’d rather fight Gonzalez a third time next.
“I definitely would want a [third] fight with Roman Gonzalez. I’d prefer it over the Sor Rungvisai fight because [Sor Rungvisai is] more complicated and because he’s a lefty. But I’d surely wanna fight Roman Gonzalez again.”
