Julianna Peña, Amanda To Coach Against Each Other On The Ultimate Fighter

Fans will see Julianna Peña and Amanda Nunes sooner than they think.

Peña, the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, and Nunes, who Peña stripped of that title, will coach against one another on Season 30 of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series.

“To be able to give back to the next generation and help this next generation of fighters cropping up in the UFC is an honor and it’s something I always wanted to do,” Peña said on Sportscenter.

“So, I feel incredibly blessed for the opportunity.”

TUF 30 starts filming in February and will debut on May 3 on ESPN+. This season will feature eight fighters from the heavyweight division and eight from the women’s flyweight division.

They will compete in a tournament and the finals will take place in the summer in Las Vegas. The winner of each division will be awarded a six-figure UFC contract.

Peña was the first female winner of The Ultimate Fighter in 2013 on TUF 18. She faced Jessica Rakoczy in the finals, which she won in the final seconds of the first round.

Peña pulled off an even more superb victory at UFC 268 in December when she finished Nunes in the third round via submission.

Nunes, meanwhile, is still regarded as one of the best female fighters of all time, despite losing her bantamweight title. She is the featherweight champion, making her one of only four fighters in the UFC to hold two division titles simultaneously.

Peña and Nunes will have their rematch after the conclusion of TUF on a date yet to be determined.
