Julianna Pena Joins Analyst Desk After Losing Title
Julianna Pena does not have an upcoming bout scheduled yet.
Julianna Pena is taking on a new role.
The former UFC bantamweight champion is returning to UFC, but this time she’ll be an analyst at UFC Vegas 64 on Saturday.
The 33-year-old will be working alongside UFC desk analysts Din Thomas and Alan Jouban and anchor Karyn Bryant.
Pena previously worked as an analyst for Combate Americas’ English DAZN broadcasts, which she did while fighting in the UFC.
Pena has not appeared in the UFC since she lost in her rematch against Amanda Nunes at UFC 277.
Nunes ended her short-lived reign by handing her opponent a unanimous decision loss. This followed Pena’s major upset win – which some claim as one of the biggest upsets in UFC history – over Nunes at UFC 269 last December.
Pena doesn’t have an upcoming fight confirmed, but she’s been vocal about a trilogy fight with Nunes.
UFC Vegas 64 will be headlined by strawweight contenders Marina Rodriguez and Amanda Lemos.
