Justin Gaethje Rules Out Rematch

UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje (28-5) has no intention of running it back with Paddy Pimblett (24-4).

Despite “Paddy the Baddy” picking up a 52-second submission victory over Benoît Saint Denis at UFC 329, the reigning lightweight champ has slammed the door on a potential rematch. The two first locked horns in January for the interim lightweight strap, with Gaethje walking away with a unanimous decision victory. Following Pimblett’s win, talk of a title rematch immediately began to swirl. Gaethje, however, quickly ruled it out.

“Destined for each other to fight again? No,”

This isn’t the first time Gaethje has dismissed the idea of a rematch. The champion has also shown zero interest in running things back with Ilia Topuria—the man he beat at UFC White House to capture the undisputed lightweight title. Gaethje’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, backed up his fighter’s stance

“The champ’s next fight will be against someone he’s never fought before. I’m really excited for this matchup,” Abdelaziz
