Justin Gaethje Says He Deserves A Title Shot After Beating Michael Chandler

Justin Gaethje also known as “Mr. Highlight”, believes that he will KO former Bellator champion and UFC title challenger Michael Chandler and will be earning  him a title  for the Light weight championship of the UFC.

Justin Gaethje and Chandler’s battle is the unofficial main event of the card. They will be fighting for 3 rounds, but no one is expected to go the distance. Both fighters suffered a loss in their previous bout, and both fights were for the title.

Gaethje suffered a submission loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Chandler suffered a loss against Charles Oliveira for the vacated lightweight title bout. However, Justin knows how it feels to win the title because he became interim lightweight champion by defeating legendary Tony Ferguson in the 5th round via TKO.

“Chandler is fast, explosive. He has no control or influence on how I’ll fight. I’ll step backward if I want to and I’ll step forwards, sideways whenever I want to,” Gaethje said on the second episode of the UFC 268 embedded. “What he says about me and fighting is irrelevant. When I go out there and knock him out I’m guaranteed a title shot after that. It’s everything that I’m trying to get.”

After the retirement of Khabib the lightweight division is up for grabs. Many prospects are willing to fight for the title. It is interesting to see how the fight between Dustin and Charles will end and if there will be a rematch between them.
