Justin Gaethje Slams Conor McGregor Over ‘Lying’

Interim UFC Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje isn’t fond of Conor McGregor.

McGregor recently found himself in a spat with UFC President Dana White. The “Notorious” one released text messages outlining plans that had been discussed. White expressed his belief that McGregor broke a code by releasing the texts but McGregor claims the UFC boss initiated things by publicly saying he turned down fights.

Gaethje took to his Twitter account to put McGregor on blast for claiming he wanted to fight him in May.

“Not a good look lying on the boss. Anything to not look like a b*tch. You had me in January I was calling on you left and right and not a peep. My manager asked if I wanted you after Tony but you know, f*ck you. You never wanted it, you took the easy road kid.”

Gaethje is scheduled for a title unification bout on October 24. He’ll take on UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. The title fight will headline UFC 254 inside the Flash Forum on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

In his last four fights, Gaethje has scored a knockout or TKO. His victims include Tony Ferguson, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Edson Barboza, and James Vick. With his victory over Ferguson, Gaethje was able to snap “El Cucuy’s” 12-fight winning streak.

As for McGregor, he hasn’t competed since January. He stopped Cerrone via TKO in 40 seconds at UFC 246. McGregor has claimed to be retired but that hasn’t stopped him from taking aim at other fighters and sharing past discussions of potentially returning to the Octagon.
