Kamaru Usman Outlines Plan For Colby Covington To Land Title Shot
By the looks of it, Kamaru Usman (21-0-1) believes that a third title shot is around the corner for Colby Covington (17-3-0).
The reigning UFC welterweight champion has shared a strategy where his rival can get back to competitive ways.
Covington has a very strong reputation in the MMA as he is regarded as the best 170lber in the UFC by Dana White, after Usman.
The Chaos earned this prestige last weekend at the UFC 272, where he beat his former teammate turned rival, Jorge Masvidal, via unanimous decision in the main event.
This win came after his second loss to Usman and he has now secured his position at the top of the UFC rankings.
Unfortunately for “Chaos,” Usman has had his number in both previous encounters.
Despite both the matches going in Usman’s favor, many experts believe that a third encounter is just a matter of time. With the Auchi native now sharing a pathway for Covington to secure a third title shot, it only adds to the spice of the occasion.
While both Covington and Usman share a bad blood, the Nigerian Nightmare has awlays lauded his opponent’s skills inside the cage.
Even Dana White felt that Covington could rule the welterweight division without breaking a sweat if Usman was never in the picture.
