Kamaru Usman Vs. Leon Edwards II To Headline UFC 278
The rematch is on.
Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman puts his title on the line, but this time against a familiar foe, Leon Edwards, at UFC 278 in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 20.
The UFC announced the upcoming pay-per-view on Monday, and released the 12 fights that are currently booked for the event. The order for the other fights have yet to be confirmed, however.
Usman and Edwards first went toe-to-toe in the octagon in 2015. Usman was the one to walk away victorious with a unanimous decision win.
That was also the last time Edwards suffered defeat as he went undefeated in his next 10 fights.
Jose Aldo and Merab Dvalishvili have also been confirmed to feature on the card as they work towards a title shot.
Aldo has overcome Marlon Vera and Rob Font in his recent outings while Dvalishvili has seven straight wins under his belt, including a highlight stoppage against Marlon Moraes.
Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold will also make his return against Paulo Costa.
