Katie Taylor, the undefeated women’s lightweight champion, is still keen on fighting on May 20th, 2023, even after her opponent Amanda Serrano, the undisputed featherweight champion, postponed their rematch due to injury.
Despite this setback, Taylor has apparently found another fighter who is willing to take her on in the form of Chantelle Cameron. This would require Taylor to move up to junior welterweight and face the undisputed champion.

Taylor and Serrano had a rematch scheduled on May 20th on DAZN, which was highly anticipated after their close fight at Madison Square Garden on April 30th, 2022, in which Taylor won the fight with a narrow split decision.
Before the rematch was announced, Serrano won a bloody unanimous decision against Erika Cruz to fully unify the featherweight division on February 4th, 2023.
The scheduled rematch between Taylor and Serrano was supposed to happen in Dublin, Ireland, which would have been Taylor’s first professional fight in her home country.
However, due to Serrano’s unavailability, Taylor expressed her desire to still fight by challenging Cameron on her Instagram page and urging her promoter, Eddie Hearn from Matchroom Boxing, to keep the date available.
“Let’s get it done Eddie Hearn, this homecoming has waited long enough. Arena Dublin is available so let’s give Ireland a night to remember on May 20th. Let’s go Chantelle Cameron, happy to move up in weight for the opportunity to become a two weight undisputed champ,” Taylor.
The undefeated boxer from England, Cameron (17-0, 8 KOs), who is 31 years old, wasted no time in replying to Taylor’s challenge:
“Katie Taylor, I’m more than happy to accept. Like you, I only want to fight the best. I’m not difficult to deal with so this fight can be signed, sealed and delivered in 24hours. Let’s go,” Cameron.
