Katie Taylor Vs. Amanda Serrano Records Over 1 Million Viewers

The Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano fight on Saturday drew in a huge amount of people.

According to DAZN, the undisputed lightweight title fight recorded 1.5 million viewers on the streaming service.

Taylor successfully defended her WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO titles with a split decision win over Serrano at Madison Square Garden – a fight that also marked the first ever women’s boxing main event.

Taylor and Serrano slugged it out until the last second of the bout.

While some argued that the win should have gone to Serrano, the judges gave it to the Irish fighter with a split decision, extended her undefeated record to 21-0.

Before Saturday, Serrano hadn’t lost since 2012. She was also the favorite going into the fight.

The fight itself was also sold out. It was reported 19,187 tickets were sold for the event.
