Katie Taylor’s Farewell Bout Confirmed

Katie Taylor (25-1, 6 KOs) will make her final professional appearance against Flora Pili (12-0, 2 KOs) at Croke Park in Dublin on September 5.

The fight will be for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title, with Taylor already holding the WBO, IBF and WBA belts in the division. Victory would see the 39-year-old become undisputed champion for a third time. The WBC belt became available after Sandy Ryan vacated to take a break from boxing.

Taylor turned professional in 2016 and won her first world title the following year. She achieved undisputed status at lightweight in 2019 before moving up to junior welterweight, losing to Chantelle Cameron in her first attempt before gaining revenge six months later. She has since defeated Amanda Serrano twice to go 3-0 in their historic rivalry.

Pili turned professional in 2019 and has collected the French, European and IBO titles at junior welterweight, most recently defeating Jelena Janicijevic by majority decision last December.
